Wow, it has been a busy week! But the highlight was Friday night's Felted Flower Workshop at The Flying Monkey Lab across the hall from my studio in the Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment Complex. We spent the evening playing and laughing while learning the basics of traditional wet felting by creating unique one-of-a-kind flowers.
First, we started with a basic flower design, discovering how fiber layout and agitation direction impacts the felting process while experimenting with color design. After everyone successfully completed their first ever felted flower, well Janelle ended up with butterfly wings actually, we stepped it up a bit to a multidimensional design using resists. Take a look at the beautiful smiling faces of this past Friday's workshop and their amazing creations!
