Fall is coming! (Okay I may be wishful thinking this week during this crazy Alabama heat wave). But Fall shows are coming and they will be here sooner than I realize, so I keep on designing in preparation.
This Nuno Felted Vest was lots of fun to make. It's chock full of subtle design with various silks and sparkly fibers felted in, then dyed in shades of vanilla, gray, and purple. And it's super versatile with four ways to wear it...Inside Out, Outside In, Upside Down with Shorter Collar and Longer Bodice or Downside Up with Big Collar and Short Bodice. Let it hang open, or use the copper and mixed metal bead pin I made, to keep it closed.
Yep, Fall is coming and I'm having fun designing for the cooler weather and upcoming shows.
Ever wonder how long it takes a crafter to get ready for a show? A long time.
While folks often ask how long it takes me to make one of my designs, what they forget is that while it may take me several hours to several days to make a single piece, it also takes additional time to sew in each tag, price each item, and for those weekend shows, design a well flowing booth to best show my work and for your shopping enjoyment. I’m really excited for the two shows I’m exhibiting in this fall, and so very grateful to have been accepted into them. So this week my focus is on tagging new and exciting creations, and designing a better booth. I’m even attending a workshop to help me with this. Okay, so maybe it is all about design, just in a different capacity.
